Across the Mississippi Delta, thousands of families still struggle to find fresh, affordable food, not because the land cannot grow it, but because the system has left them behind.
At In Her Shoes Inc., we are changing that story. Every dollar you give helps us bring healthy food closer to homes, create jobs, and empower local farmers and retailers who are the heart of our rural communities.
More than 4,085 households have gained better access to fresh produce. Our mobile grocery store has served 900+ families since November 2024 and has given over 2,200+ pounds of fresh food to date.

The Taborian Hospital once stood as a promise that Black communities in the Delta could build care for themselves. Today, In Her Shoes, Inc. and the Knights & Daughters of Tabor are working to carry that legacy forward through fresh food access, nutrition education, and prevention-centered community health.
The Taborian legacy is a story of dignity, self-determination, and community-built care. At a time when Black families in the Delta needed access to healing, the Taborian Hospital represented what could be made possible through shared commitment.
